Welcome to the home page of the AREVA Lynchburg NA-YGN chapter!
The North American Young Generation in Nuclear unites young professionals who believe in nuclear science and technology and are working together throughout North America to share their passion for a field that is alive and kicking!
NA-YGN defines young professionals as people under the age of 36 or in the first 10 years of their professional career (whichever comes last), working in any field of nuclear science and technology.
NA-YGN is active both at the local and the international level. Local chapters often hold meetings with keynote speakers and social events among their membership, in addition do conducting community outreach activities (e.g. teachers' workshops, visiting local schools for the annual NA-YGN Drawing Contest, visiting career fairs, etc.).
At the international level, NA-YGN holds several professional development workshops, communications workshops, panel discussions and sessions directed at YGN issues at various professional meetings in Canada, Mexico and the US. Some examples include meetings of the American Nuclear Society, Canadian Nuclear Society, Mexican Nuclear Society, and Health Physics Society, as well as the Nuclear Energy Assembly. NA-YGN has also been present at several International Climate Change negotiations meetings, thus making the nuclear option understood by the policymakers.
