7th International Customer Seminar Held by Technical Center in Saint Marcel

On October 17-18, 2002, the Saint Marcel Technical Center held its first customer seminar since the integration of the Framatome and Siemens engineering resources as well as test facilities and laboratories.

Numerous visitors from countries all over Europe attended and were given an overview not only of the Technical Center's broad spectrum of products and services, but also of ongoing French and German projects and development work. For example, work is underway on material issues involved in optimizing plant life management. In addition, the visitors viewed recent activities in thermal-hydraulic studies and component testing.

In the labs and manufacturing facilities at Saint Marcel and Le Creusot, the two Technical Center sites in France, customers then received up-to-date information on such topics as advanced welding techniques, ultrasonic inspection probe fabrication, and experiments in the fields of corrosion as well as fluid and structural mechanics.

Since 1995, six other seminars have been held in Erlangen and Karlstein, the Technical Center's sites in Germany.
