RCCAs to Diablo Canyon
Framatome Cogema Fuels (FCF) was selected by PG&E to supply 106 rod cluster control assemblies (RCCAs) to the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Plant. The RCCAs will have the Ion-Nitride wear protection feature developed by Framatome in France. The selection for FCF’s RCCA design, which follows last year’s award by Florida Power & Light for replacement RCCAs for the Turkey Point reactors, provides further confirmation of the benefits of the Harmoni™ Ion-Nitride RCCAs. Deliveries to Diablo Canyon are scheduled to occur over two cycles at each plant, with the first delivery scheduled for March 2001.
